TOWN INTO RUNCORN CUP SEMI'S

Runcorn Town recorded their second 9-1 victory of the competition to enter the Semi-Final of the Runcorn Senior Cup in style.

Two John McEvoy goals inside nine minutes gave Town the lead over opponents Robin Hood Helsby. Despite the merry men of Helsby pulling one back, goals from Jason Carey (2), Danny Dalton and Joe Davies gave Town a 6-1 half time lead.

The second half of the game was fairly even but further goals from Aarron Brown (2) and McEvoy for his hat-trick meant Town progressed to the Semi-Final.

In the other Quarter Final games there was a major shock with Halfway House Celtic beating Cheshire League Two side Grappenhall 2-1. The other two matches (Halton v Helsby and Moore Utd v Runcorn Albion) were both postponed.
