DEFENSIVE LAPSES COST TOWN AT MAGHULL
It was very much a case of two points dropped for Runcorn Town on Saturday after being held to a 4-4 draw at Maghull.

After falling behind early on, Jason Carey raced onto a long ball after 20 minutes and chipped the keeper from 20-yards out to make it 1-1. Maghull then made it 2-1 with Simon Burton equalising again from inside the box after good work by Ian Robinson.

Just after half time Maghull made it 3-2 with Burton grabbing Town's third equaliser after 50 minutes when Kyle Hamid’s corner from the right headed was not cleared with Burton scoring from close range.

Burton missed the chance of a hat-trick from the spot on the hour with Ian Carroll saving his spot kick, but Carey gave Town the lead for the first time after 74 minutes when he advanced towards goal and found the bottom corner.

Maghull though showed their own bouncebackability two minutes later with a goal from a corner to make it 4-4, with Carroll making a couple of good saves late on to keep Maghull level
