KEEPERLESS TOWN HELD BY MERSEY ROYAL Runcorn Town Reserves were held to a 1-1 draw at home to Mersey Royal with defender Paul Illidge forced to go in goal after Matty Taylor failed to recover from the injury that forced him off in last weekend’s game.Martin Daly grabbed Town's only goal with his third in as many games with a shot from 20 yards which despite the keeper getting a hand to, trickled into the net. Mersey Royal’s equaliser came five minutes before the break with Neil Smith and Dave Graven going for the ball from a left wing corner with the ball flying into the net.
