Runcorn Town crashed out of the Pyke Cup at the Quarter Final stage with a 1-0 home defeat to Heswall after putting in one of their worst performances of the season.
The only goal of the game came in the 16th minute of the match with poor defending and goalkeeping gifting Lee Davey an open goal for his seventh goal of the season.
Ste Latham should have equalised on the half hour after Simon Burton's lay off gave him a clear chance but he dragged his shot wide, and apart from that opportunity there was little quality to note.
Burton had a couple of opportunituies in the second half with a shot from the corner of the box that went just wide and a strike from 20-yards that forced a spectacular save. However much like the first half passing was poor and opportunities limited with Heswall quite happy to sit back and hold on to a lead that Town did not look like threatening.
