
Another great Saturday for Runcorn Town, with the first team taking the first step towards Runcorn Saturday Cup retention with a resounding 9-1 victory against a valiant Waterloo Wanderers at Runcorn Heath and Town Reserves taking advantage of the fact that Marshalls had a Liverpool County FA Junior Cup tie ( which they won 8-0 ) to return to the league summit following a comprehensive 6-2 victory over Southport Trinity Reserves at Pavilions. Goalscorers in Town's Runcorn Cup win were Simon Burton(4), Mark Toohey, Stevie Latham, Jon McEvoy, Joe Davies, and Jason Carey - Ged Burns scored Waterloo Wanderers' consolation. Scorers for Town Reserves were Aarron Brown(2), Mark Tudor ( honestly ! ), Connor Anderson, Martin Daly and Wayne Conway - Lee Welsh & Sean Curlett scored for Trinity Reserves.
