Runcorn Town put in a superb performance at Marine Reserves by hitting seven unanswered goals to make it two out of two in the West Cheshire One and move up to third in the league with a game in hand on the two teams above.
Simon Burton put Town ahead after ten minutes by turning in Kyle Hamid's corner at the far post after Matty Jones had flicked it on. Mike Boyle added the second after 23 minutes when Danny Dalton's long ball caused confusion in the defence with Boyle stealing between the centre half and keeper and scoring into the empty net.
John McEvoy made it 3-0 just before half time with a header into the top left hand corner from Joe Davies' cross, with the second half getting underway in the same fashion with Burton hitting the fourth with a superb volley from 25-yards from Ste Latham's cross.
McEvoy made it five with a simple tap-in after Jason Carey won possession off the last defender and unselfishly squared it for the unmarked forward to score. McEvoy completed his perfect hat-trick with another superb goal, this time finding the top corner from just inside the box with a left foot shot.
There was still time for Carey to make it seven after he ran onto Dean Woolley's ball over the top and rifled it past the keeper to top off a fantastic evening for Town.
