TOWN CRUSH LEAGUE LEADERS
Runcorn Town did their promotion chances the power of good with a 4-0 victory over league leaders West Kirby Reserves.

Ian Robinson put Town on the way after opening the scoring in the 31st minute with a shot from 22-yards that went just inside the left hand post.

The game was largely contested in midfield with chances at a premium. West Kirby stepped up the pressure after half time and went very close just after the hour with Dave Parkinson pulling off a superb double save to thwart the visitors.

Town had to wait until the 74th minute for the second when George Donnelly got behind West Kirby's defence and kept his nerves with a cool finish off the right hand post. Two minutes later Andy Faraday did the same with Kirby's keeper pulling off a superb save.

With nine minutes left, Robinson played through a superb ball which Wade got on the end of, with the winger rounding the keeper before scoring from close range. Town made it four with two minutes remaining when Wade crossed from the left, with Faraday laying it off perfectly for Donnelly to net his second of the game.

Town: Parkinson, Hawkins, Dale, Duffy, R.Moore, Ingham, Robinson (D.Moore), Tierney, Donnelly, Obong (Faraday), Wade.
