RESERVES OPEN SEASON WITH WIN

Runcorn Town Reserves opened up the 2008/09 West Cheshire League season with a hard fought 2-1 victory over Focus at Pavilions.

John Bygroves opened the scoring by heading home a free kick from the left with Danny Cummins equalising after heading in a high Paul Illidge cross from the left.

The winner came after 37 minutes when Alex Cunningham got clear of the defence and slotted past the keeper.
