TOWN DEFEAT WELSH CHAMPIONS BETHESDA

Runcorn Town emerged victorious in their final pre-season game with a hard fought 2-1 victory over Welsh Alliance Champions Bethesda Athletic.

In form midfielder Kyle Hamid put Town ahead after 23 minutes with a low strike from the edge of the box after he ran unopposed from midfield, but Bethesda hit back on the half hour when a good passing move ended with a cross from the right which the forward controlled well and scored past Wills.

The winning goal arrived after 65 minutes when Danny Dalton's superb cross from the right was layed off by Danny Salt with Ste Latham finding the bottom corner from 20-yards out.
