PRE-SEASON TAKING SHAPE

Runcorn Town will be in for a gruelling pre-season with numerous games against higher or comparable level opposition planned.

Games have been confirmed against Gregorians, who finished second in the Manchester League, Styal, who won the Cheshire County League, and Wolstanton United, who won the Staffordshire County League. All of these leagues are Step 7 leagues at the equivalent standard to the West Cheshire League.

Wigan Robin Park, who have this season been promoted to the North West Counties League, visit Pavilions, with the club also in discussion about games with another North West Counties League team and a team from the Welsh Premier League.

For the reserves, they will also be playing the same Welsh Premier team at the opposite venue, as well as several Cheshire County League sides. So far Golborne Sports and Styal Reserves have been confirmed with Lostock Gralam pencilled in (to be confirmed later this week). Plans for two other friendlies are also at advanced stages.
