TOWN RESERVES BEAT BLACON
Runcorn Town Reserves kept alive their slim hopes of promotion with a 3-1 victory over Blacon Youth Club Reserves at Pavilions.

Town had to come from behind after Scott Ormond put Blacon ahead early on by clotting inside the post after a throw in from the left was flicked on. James McShane equalised for Town after good work from Anto Ellison, with Pete Murphy giving Town a half time lead by heading home Reece Conlan's through ball for his 20th goal of the season.

McShane made the game safe ten minutes from time after cutting inside the last defender and firing low inside the left hand post for his 28th goal of the season.

In Wednesday's other games, Ashville were relegated from Division One after losing 6-1 at Cammell Laird Reserves, with Lairds now nine points ahead of Town having played three games more. In Division Three, Mossley Hill Athletic beat Fairfield Reserves 7-1, with leaders Bronze Social going down 3-1 at our West Cheshire Shield opponents Richmond Raith Rovers who are now fourth. Town have games in hand on the top two but need one of them to slip up.
