HALTON PROGRESS IN RUNCORN CUP
Halton FC took the spoils in tonights Runcorn Saturday Cup Semi-Final with a penalty win taking them through to the final after a goalless draw against Runcorn Town.

Neither team created many openings in the match with Town's best effort coming towards the end of the game when Phil Stancombe headed wide from five yards out from Ryan Wade's right wing cross.

Halton's best chance came in extra time when ex-Town forward Ian Cocks somehow hit the bar from just three yards out with the ball rebounding over.

Sean Tierney, Darren Moore, George Donnelly, Ryan Wade and Carl Dale all scored in the shoot out with Halton also scoring all five, before Stancombe hit the bar with Town's sixth and Halton scoring to win the match.

Full match report to follow.
