TOWN BEATEN BY HESWALL
Runcorn Town put in one of their worst performances of the season against Heswall, with the visitors keeping up their unbeaten run away from home this season.

Reece Conlan went closest for Town in the first half with a 25-drive that came back off the keeper, with Town also denied a penalty for handball in the box. Heswall, who were also denied two penalty appeals for fouls in the box, took the lead after 42 minutes when Tom Rowlands curled the ball past Karl Wills with the ball going in off the post.

The second half saw Town start to get the better of things with James McShane denied by a superb save. Matty Jones pulled Town level with a header from a right wing corner with 67 minutes gone. Heswall's winner came from a free kick from the edge of the box which Richie Foukes drove through the wall and past Wills for the winner.

Meanwhile Runcorn Town Reserves suprisingly went down 3-2 at St Werburghs with Craig Beech and Danny Cummins on the scoresheet for Town.

In other games Division One games, West Kirby extended their lead at the top over Town to 17 points with a 4-0 win over New Brighton, although Town still have six games in hand. Cammell Laird Reserves went down 2-0 at Castrol Social and remain three points clear of Town having played two games more. In Division Three leaders Mossley Hill Athletic's game was called off, with Bronze Social taking over as leaders after a 1-0 win over fourth place Manor Athletic.
