TOWN CLOSE GAP WITH WIN OVER MARINE
Runcorn Town closed the gap at the top of the West Cheshire League to 14 points with a comfortable 3-0 victory on Saturday against Marine Reserves at The Arriva Stadium.

Simon Burton put Town ahead with a shot into the far corner from the right of the box in the second minute of the game, then set up Joe Davies midway through the half when his shot came back off the post, with Davies sidefooting the ball home.

Kyle Hamid went off with an ankle injury shortly after, with Burton showing Kyle isnt the only one who can score from free kick's by notching Town's third towards the end of the half, although his dead ball from the edge of the box took a wicked deflection off the wall to find the net.

Town could have added more in the second half but for last ditch defending and a bit of luck not going our way. West Kirby's goalless draw at home to Upton means the gap is now 14 points, although Town do have six games in hand on the leaders.
