Runcorn Town had to battle back from two goals down to grab a point in this afternoon's West Cheshire League clash against Vauxhall Motors Reserves.
Tom Harragan had put Vauxhall ahead in the first half after a good passing move, with Harragan just onside as the final ball was played into him. The second half saw Rob Jones made it 2-0, with Jones running unmarked from midfield to slot past Karl Wills.
Aarron Brown pulled one back for Town by stabbing home from close range after a melee in defence from Kyle Hamid's corner. Then Hamid put Brown clear of the defence to pull Town level with a cool finish. Michael Boyle almost won it for Town five minutes into stoppage time as he lobbed the keeper from outside the box, with the ball rebounding back off the underside of the bar.
Meanwhile Town Reserves also showed their battling qualities in a 2-1 win against Manor Athletic. Manor went in 1-0 up at the break through Lee Carter's goal, but two second half goals from the clubs' leading scorer Pete Murphy gave Town all three points which could prove crucial come the end of the season.
