TOWN CRUISE ON - RESERVES CRASH OUT
Runcorn Town registered their fourth successive West Cheshire League victory to keep up pressure on leaders West Kirby after a 4-1 victory at Ashville.

Town dominated from the start and had numerous chances to take the lead before Simon Burton's 20th minute opener which was a tap in from Kyle Hamid's corner. Ste Lathom and Kyle Hamid's had both hit the bar and Ian Robinson struck the post before Burton deservedly put Town ahead.

After that it continued to be one way traffic with Burton grabbing a second after 33 minutes after he ran on to Hamid's clever ball in and rounded the keeper for a simple finish.

Ashville grabbed one back before half time with a 25-yard free kick from that gave goalkeeper Karl Wills no chance, but second half goals from Ste Lathom and Michael Boyle saw Town comfortably home.

Lathom's was a thunderous strike from inside the box after Ashville failed to clear their lines after shots from James McShane and Boyle were blocked, and Boyle's was a tap in from the six-yard box after Will Dolan's excellent low cross from the left.

Meanwhile Town Reserves' aspirations of Guardian Cup glory were ended as they went down to a late goal in a 1-0 loss to Beeches in the last sixteen. Town boss Rod Looker was limited selection-wise with the non-showing of several players, with Beeches goal coming in the 76th minute of the match.
